Months ahead early in the game, the London Design Museum is already showing symptoms of Olympic fever. Adding to the fanfare surrounding the upcoming global sports competition, the Agency announced yesterday the winners of the Design of the Year Award : s Hopkins Architects ‘Olympic Velodrome for the architecture and the Olympic torch to the overall design.

Like Jamaica bobsled team that competed at the 1988 Calgary Olympics, the Olympic Torch design by London-based Barber Osgerby facing competition. There was Zaha Hadid‘s Guangzhou Opera House of other worlds and fairy tale worthy of Alexander McQueen Royal wedding dress by Sarah Burton. There’s a Ron Aradextra-terrestrially hip glasses collection for PQ, and there are even s made of moon rocks by Bethan Laura wood.

Unlike the inspiration for “cool activities”, however, beat the odds and take the torch to the grand prize. The torch itself is no real audience; When the Telegraph asked his readers what torch most similar in June, about 38 percent of those answering “the Olympic torch,” as the second most popular response, “cheese grater” (thank you no small part to the circular perforations 8000 on the surface). What is lacking in the aesthetics of the torch, however, it makes up for in symbolism and ingenuity. Constructed from aluminium alloy aerospace-grade, the Olympic torch lightest ever can withstand high altitude, below zero temperatures, and toned (which are all possible weather scenarios during the summer in London). Laser-cut perforations representing the Olympus 8000 who will descend on the capital of the United Kingdom this summer. They also make transparent torch so the fire can be seen through the shell, while the light carriers lender design will appreciate. Trilateral forms represents the third round of London as the host city of the games.

Another winner was walking down memory lane, reminds us the jewel appearing from 2011 ‘s in design. Issey Miyake-inspired origami “132.5″ collection takes the award for fashion, beating out Burton and prizes Met 2011 blockbuster upset of the year.

UWM School of architecture and urban planning of consistent ranking as one of the top architecture schools in the State, and students who are pursuing one of the degree programs of various schools have classes not better than city of Milwaukee’s own

But this spring, five students working under the direction of architect and UWM Professor Matthew Jarosz expand their horizons a little

Shanell Knight, Gerry Bauer, Darrin Pfaff, James Wall and Matthew Dorman has formed a mock studio Re-Flex’s Architecture Design Group to compete in a mock company International Design Competition, the Chicago-based competition that challenges students to create a simulation of “mega-high” mixed sky skyscraper over 600 meters high to adorn the skies of Beijing.

Re-Flex Design Group will represent Milwaukee and go against students from United States and Europe as they pitch their design industry professionals in Chicago in May.

“Skyscraper, I, the main design an architect can achieve,” said Darrin Pfaff. “No more catch the eye of a tower reaching for the sky and defy gravity.”

The banking industry is concerned, the head of Edward DeMarco housing regulator, moving toward a plan that will allow some homeowners to walk away from their mortgage.

Industry groups say that cutting head for borrowers who are “water” and owe more than their homes are worth to be further housing recovery tub.

“Major reduction Program will lead to extensive fewer investors are willing to lend financial, Housing loans increased costs and tighter credit availability,” said Keating.

DeMarco, acting Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), has come under pressure from Democrats and the Finance Ministry to reduce mortgage principal. They argued the move would help struggling homeowners and save money in the long run the Government.

But even with the new data back those claims, remain skeptical about the impact of DeMarco of program implementation in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage giants that the Government has spent $ 150 billion to keep afloat.

When you see cranes and construction sites everywhere in your sight and you find it increasingly difficult to locate a vacant land around you then definitely it is a sign of blooming real estate market. Boston is experiencing similar environment these days and there is no sign of real estate Boston market slowing down in near future. News and data collected from real estate Boston agents has a different story to tell, and according to them, there is literally wars going on for bidding on homes and properties in downtown and other parts of Boston. This is surprising for many prospect investors that were hoping that the economic downturn has something for them in providing advantages over the property sellers.

If you consider the south end Boston then few years back it was considered as one of the worst areas to live and today the picture has completely changes and the same area has become one of the hottest and most sought after area for some luxurious homes. No wonder cashing in on the boom of real estate Boston you will find the actual luxury real estate market in Boston is touching new heights and people seem to have no second thoughts when they decide on investing in Condos or luxury homes priced above million of dollars.

Everywhere you see you will find residential and commercial towers being brought up and t is hard to find a single location where there is no construction site in sight. For instance, go to south Water Front or the Seaport District and you will no longer witness abandoned warehouses there, go to Leather District in south and you will witness large luxury Condos and townships rising there. Visit Black Bay and the story is not different what more, stand over the bridge in Cambridge and you will get a nice view of transforming Boston that has new name because of blooming Real Estate Boston.

How do you solve one of the world’s most intrac housing problems? Floor one at a time, said Rajkumar Nader, as he stared up the stairs nearly vertical to the second floor of his house in the small, narrow backstreet in the heart of the largest slum of Dharavi, Mumbai.

“My brother is getting married in may, and we need additional space for himself and his wife to stay here,” he said. “So we’re adding a whole new level.”

More news from the Financial Times
League shows one hundred schools ‘ failing ‘

Rise above, the team of four developers work quickly in cramped conditions, dusty, aims to add a third floor to the House Mr. Nader in just two weeks. Dozens of similar self-improvement or makeover projects, supervised by a team of contractors with little formal training, can be found dotted around the Dharavi.

This is a project that embodies the aspirations of an estimated 1 million or more residents who crowd into the slum 540 hectares were hoping for a little more space or a modicum of privacy from neighbors, and save a little money each month to change their residence from the hood to the slum and ultimately to a brick house.
